Prather Miatas Three-For-Three at
Gateway
MADISON, Ill. (March 30, 2009) – Prather
Racing had a great start to its 2009 SCCA National Club Racing season,
winning three separate class races Sunday at Gateway International
Raceway.
After a day and a half of rain, snow and wind, the
skies cleared Sunday afternoon just in time for racing.
Starting from the outside of the front row in the
Group Two (big bore) race, Jesse Prather started his E Production National
Championship title defense with a flag-to-flag win from the pole in his
No. 34 Prather Racing/Moss Motors Mazda Miata, setting the fastest race
lap for the class in the process.
Once the car was released from impound, the car went
through the practiced transformation from E Production to GT-Lite for Kent
Prather, beginning his first season of racing outside of the Production
category. After the cursory weight was added, the single inlet restrictor
installed and engine management program was changed, the Prather Racing
patriarch led flag-to-flag himself to capture the GT-Lite race win in his
No. 26 Prather Racing/Moss Motors Miata.
Just ahead, Bob Bramlage was enjoying his own
flag-to-flag win in F Production, also taking the overall win in his No.
83 Prather Racing Miata while setting fastest race lap in the process.
There is no rest in store for the Prather team, as it
heads to Hallett Raceway just west of Tulsa, Okla. this weekend for the
Green Country Grand Prix.
