Prather Wins Mid-States Conference, but Win Streak Ends with 2013 Runoffs

ELKHART LAKE, Wis. (Sept. 22, 2013) – Kent Prather extended his SCCA GT-Lite winning streak that began in 2011 to 17-straight races, including two National Championships, en route to winning the 2013 SCCA U.S. Majors Mid-States Conference points championship.

Prather drove his Mazda Miata to four wins, at the brand-new Circuit of the Americas circuit, in Austin, Texas, and Hallett Motor Racing Circuit, in Jennings, Okla.

At the 50th SCCA National Championship Runoffs at Road America, Prather qualified fourth after much of the week was rained out. He quickly moved to third place, and then second in the 13-lap race. He was running a solid third place, looking for another Runoffs podium finish, when a last-lap spin dropped him to 11th in the final results.
